Ms Caroline ROOSE

Caroline Roose was elected Member of the European Parliament in 2019 and sits in the Greens/EFA group. She was born in Belgium but grew up and lived in the Alpes-Maritimes, in the french mediterranean region. She has been active in civil society movements and NGOs prior to serving political office.
She is a member of the European Parliament's Committee on Fisheries where she defends the preservation of marine biodiversity and small-scale fishers. She was notably the rapporteur of the report "More fish in the seas? Measures to promote stock recovery above the MSY, including fish recovery areas and marine protected areas" which calls for ambitious measures to protect oceans.
She is also a member of the Committee on Development where she works on EU development policy, climate finance, but also on the impact of agricultural, fisheries and trade policies on food security and ecosystems in developing countries.
