The Asian Species Action Partnership: Bridging the gap between in situ and ex situ conservation

Southeast Asia has among the world’s fastest recent rates of habitat loss and has seen an explosion in over-exploitation of wildlife. These major drivers of species population declines and local extinctions in the region are caused by both local and global threats. The need for focused and determined action to avoid species extinctions in Southeast Asia has never been more urgent than it is now. This session will highlight how the in situ and ex situ conservation communities can work together to address the threats and promote species recovery.
